Sarah became passionate about breastfeeding and helping mothers reach their goals while breastfeeding her own children (8 ½ years), being involved in La Leche League, and being a La Leche League Leader. After becoming an Internationally Board-Certified Lactation Consultant in 2009, Sarah earned her nursing degree in order to learn more and better serve mothers and babies. Sarah has provided nursing and lactation care in many settings: home-visits, birth centers, public health, and hospitals, including lactation care in an Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. At the Breastfeeding Center of Charleston, Sarah loves giving mothers the information, tools, and confidence they need to make it through the, sometimes challenging, days of breastfeeding.
When she is not helping mothers and babies, Sarah spends time with her family and is usually outdoors sailing and gardening, and when possible, camping, hiking, and kayaking.
