Ashley Smoak, RN, BSN, CLS
Ashley began her nursing career as a member of the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care team at MUSC after receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Nursing in 2001. After her first child, she transitioned to a position at a local community hospital as a mother and baby nurse and also served as a leader for a weekly newborn care class for new parents. After four years she transitioned to a position in the level 2 nursey providing care to premature and sick infants. She feels fortunate to have had the experience of caring for mothers, infants and their families during this crucial time in their lives. With her years of experience working with mothers and babies, she has become a Certified Lactation Specialist (CLS) and is seeking to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). She is excited to join the Breastfeeding Center of Charleston and help mothers focus on their breastfeeding goals during this joyous time.
If she is not helping new families, Ashley and her husband enjoy coastal living and love spending time with their two children.
